Stay in one of Lakeshore Resort’s rustic cabins.
The historic Lakeshore Resort has been at Huntington Lake since the 1920s. The cabins are unique to an earlier era.
Bring you family, friends, fishing or skiing buddies, or that someone special up to Huntington Lake and spend a weekend or longer with us. Lakeshore Resort's cabins were built in the 1920's - 1940's. Clean, cozy and quaint, our cabins offer visitors the experience of nature without having to give up a hot shower or warm bed.
They are rustic mainly because there are no TV's or Telephones in our cabins.
Central California’s best-known lake regatta is just outside our front doors.
You can expect up to 150 boats racing each weekend during late June and early July .
Huntington Lake is great for spectators viewing the racing from the shoreline. The Start/Finish line is just West of the launch ramp, about 50 feet off shore. Mark 1, the downwind jibe mark is about the same distance from the shore at the point which is about a 100 feet walk northwest of the Start/Finish line.
The event attracts Olympic gold medalists and national champions. The consistent winds and beautiful scenery attract sailors from all over the country.
We have been planning weddings and receptions for almost 30 years.

Imagine a lakeside wedding in the summer with a warm breeze on the rocky point. Or perhaps a wooded area in the fall by pines. Even a winter wedding in the snow, outside in the meadow or in the Lodge Hall.
We cater all weddings to each guest’s individual needs.
Lakeshore Resort at Huntington Lake was built in 1922.
It features one of the few remaining wooden structures of its kind in a National Forest and has been nominated for the National Registry of Historic Places.
In 1922, Harry Allen, a heavy equipment engineer who worked on the building of the dams, built the General Store / Hotel and some of the cabins. He was the person who took a Model T Ford over the mountains establishing the Kaiser Pass Road to the backcountry. Harry and his wife Merle provided housing and comfort for the men working on the Big Creek hydroelectric project during the early 20’s.
